TELO Newsletter February, 2015

February, 2015 TELO Newsletter

Hello Tuition Exchange Liaison Officers

Wow – it is already mid-way through the month!  I want to provide you with a few reminders and a few housekeeping tips.

TE Reminders

  • TE Central is hosting our second in-person training on Monday, February 23 at the Tampa Airport/Westshore Hilton Garden Inn 5312 Avion Park Drive, Tampa, 33607.  I sent all those registered an email reminder.  If you did not receive one from me – please contact me directly. Or if you want to join us – we still have a couple of open seats.
  • On Thursday, February 26 TE Central is hosting our February webinar.  This month's TE webinar will have a two part focus and you are encouraged to invite your Enrollment Management staff to attend Part One.  As always, the webinar will be recorded and posted inside the TELO ONLY Resource section, 2014-15 Training folder.
    • Part One - Institutional Capacity as it relates to offering TE scholarships; and  o Part Two - Your TE Policy and Procedure Manual - an overview of best practices and even a few ideas to ponder.
    • Please register for the February, 2015 Tuition Exchange Webinar on Feb 26, 2015 1:00 PM CST at: https://attendee.gotowebinar.com/register/7732679825109077505.  After registering, you will receive a confirmation email containing information about joining the webinar. Brought to you by GoToWebinar®Webinars Made Easy®
  • The TE Board of Directors met in January.  The 2016-17 optional set rate is $34,000.  A historical listing of the optional set rate is available inside the TELO ONLY Resource section, Application folder.
  • As a reminder – TE-GO grant nominations are due February 27.  To date nominations have been slow.  Good for those we have received but more applications means the best of the best in the applicant pool.  Please take a few minutes to review your Export options soon.
  • Last year, we asked all TE member schools to complete a survey regarding available seats after May 1.  We will be providing the same website listing option this year.  Detailed information will be sent to all TELO’s mid-March.

Housekeeping items

  • There are still 15 schools that lack specific school information.  I will contacting each of you individually about providing a short sales paragraph.  Our Google analytics’ tell us the TE website is visited often.  Families are looking for options – please help them know something about your school.  A blank message tells them to look elsewhere.  Need help – check with your Enrollment Management staff and/or Public Relations for assistance.  Currently, we are not able to accommodate graphics; however you are not limited in the amount of verbiage.
  • There are a few schools who still have outstanding dues/participation fees.  These are now all seriously overdue.  Please take a few minutes to review your Membership dues and Participation Fees (Pfees) section of your TELO portal.  You may owe additional Pfees due to Spring, 2015 exports.
  • Today Kristine invoices schools for any Double Credit 3 (DC 3) imports.  If you have not received an invoice or feel the invoice is not correct – please contact Kristine Lev directly – klev@tuitionexchange.org
  • If a student did not return for the Spring, 2015 term – please update the EXPIRATION DATE.  Do not remove the student from your Annual Report.

Exciting news

In March, TE Central will unveil our updated TELO Portal.  We listened to all your many requests, questions, frustrations and compliments.  TE Central will host at least two webinars once the updated webinar is launched to help you familiarize with the many changes and enhancements.  Stay tuned for more information.

As always, thank you for all that you do for students and employees.  It has been a long winter for many of us.  Hang in there – I understand spring is close.
